Fares For Children

Under one year, Cabin, $10.00 each way, Tourist and Third Class, $4.00 each way. One year and under ten, All Classes, half fare. Ten years and over, All Classes full fare.

French Port Tax At Cherbourg And Havre

The undermentioned Tax must be collected by booking Agent on all East and Westbound bookings made at French Port Rate and on all bookings made at French Port Rate plus European rail when direct sailings are used to or from French Port.

Cabin, $3.50; Tourist Class, $1.40; Third Class, nil; Round Trip, double the amount; Children one to ten years, half the amount; Infants no charge.

Exceptions.--This Tax is not collected--(a) When bookings are via a British Port; (b) On bookings to or from European Capital Towns and agreed common points when an agreed through rate is quoted in tariff. This does not include through rates made by adding rail fares to the French Port Rate. Tax is collectible on these through rates. Tax to be endorsed on ticket.

Canadian Ports Wharfage Tax

Agents in Canada will collect from Trans-Atlantic passengers ticketed in Canada, Canadian Port wharfage tax--50 cents per passenger, one way, or $1.00 round trip, which charge is imposed by National Harbour Board of Canada. No charge for children under ten years of age.

Charge of 50 cents per passenger (children exempt) also applies on Trans-Atlantic prepaid westbound tickets. Immigrants to Canada are exempt.

Information

Passports.--Passengers must hold valid passports or necessary documents of the country to which they belong. Passengers travelling through countries of which they are not citizens or subjects should obtain the vise of the Consuls of such countries wherever necessary. Passengers in transit to Continental Points via Great Britain do not require British vise.

Deposits--Cabin.--10% of passage fare, with a minimum of $25 one way or $50 round trip, as the case may be. Infant, nil. Balance of fare to be paid on delivery of ticket, not less than three weeks before sailing date.

Tourist Class $15 one way per adult passenger. $30 round trip per adult passenger is required to be paid when securing reservation; one-half of this amount for children. No deposit for infants.

Third Class $10 One Way or Round Trip is required to be paid when securing reservation; at least one-half this amount for half fare passenger. No deposit for one-quarter fare or an infant. No accommodation will be considered as engaged until such deposit has been made.

The Company will not be responsible for passage money or deposits paid to agents unless the Company's official receipt is given.

Cancellation Fee--All Classes.--In making refunds due to cancellation of tickets, the following will be deducted; (a) Agency Commission if any, (b) Other expenses incurred.

United States Revenue Tax.--Agents in United States must collect from each Eastbound passenger, in addition to ocean rate, tax as follows:--

When ocean passage rate if $10 or under No Tax
When ocean passage rate is over $10 and up to $30 inclusive, $1.
When ocean passage rate is over $30 and up to $60 inclusive, $3.
When ocean passage rate is over $60 $5.

On Round Trip tickets the amount of tax is based on full amount of Round Trip fare.
Endorse amount on ticket.

United States Head Tax.--Aliens entering the United States are, with certain exceptions, required to pay the sum of $8.

Deck Chairs, Deck Chair Cushions and Steamer Rugs may be rented from the Deck Steward. Deck chairs, $1.50 each. Steamer rugs, $1.50 each. Deck chair cushions, 50c. each.

Baggage should be forwarded to reach port of embarkation the day previous to sailing.

Baggage consists of wearing apparel, toilet articles and similar effects and should be enclosed in trunks, valises, suitcases, etc. Household effects, furniture and tools must be forwarded as cargo.

Baggage should be plainly and securely labelled. "Wanted" baggage will be delivered to cabins, or, if too large for cabins, will be placed in the baggage room to which passengers have access daily.

Baggage can be checked from all points in Canada and from many points in the United States to port of landing. Passengers from points were port of landing checks are not obtainable should arrange transfer to steamship dock at port of embarkation.

Allowance.--On Canadian and American Railways.--150 pounds, the weight of a piece being limited to 250 pounds.

On Atlantic Steamships.--Cabin Class adult passengers, 20 cubic feet. Tourist and Third Class, 15 cubic feet. If booked through, from or to the Orient or Australiasia, 35 cubic feet. Excess, 60 cents per cubic foot. Children paying half-fare are allowed half the free allowance.

Bicycles and Baby Carriages are carried at owner's risk at $5.00 each, to be paid to baggage agent at port of embarkation or to Purser on board. No crating necessary.

Go-Carts (Folding) are conveyed free; but are reckoned in Baggage allowance.

Dogs (large or small), $20.00 each. Cats (in baskets), $5.00 each. Birds, one or two birds in cage, $2.00 per cage. More than two birds in cage, $5.00 per cage. These rates include attendant's fee. Carried at owner's risk.

Every dog or cat landed in Great Britain or Northern Ireland for stay in those countries, or transit to the Irish Free State, or the Continent, is required to be accompanied by a license issued by the British Board of Agriculture, Government of Northern Ireland, Belfast, or Department of Agriculture, Irish Free State.

Dogs and cats may be landed on the Continent without special permit, but it is advisable for the owner to have a veterinary certificate in his possession.

Automobiles, Motor Bicycles and Cycle Side Cars.--When accompanied by passengers, will be handled at special excess baggage rates.

Corpses--Caskets.--$150, Urns, $25. Certificate of Civil Registrar of place where death occurred, together with undertaker's certificate, executed before a Notary Public, and the physician's certificate, and permit of the local Board of Health, must accompany the corpse or urn to port of debarkation in Europe.

Eastbound tickets issued in United States subject to $5.00 U.S. Revenue Tax.

Baggage Storage.--For passengers who desire to tour Europe without heavy baggage, excellent facilities are available at all ports of call and at Canadian Pacific Offices, Trafalgar Square; London, at reasonable rates. Arrangements for storage should be made with the Baggagemaster of the ship.

Baggage Via Liverpool and Southampton.--Passengers for London on "Duchess" and "Empress" ships via Southampton and on all ships via Liverpool, may, at reasonable charge, arrange with the Ship's Baggagemaster for through bookings of their baggage to London, or for delivery direct to their hotel or residence in that city.

Passengers travelling on other Canadian Pacific ships via Southampton may arrange for this service through the Southern Railway, England, whose employees meet all ships on arrival.

Passengers sailing westbound from Southampton or Liverpool may have baggage collected at residence or hotel by application to the Canadian Pacific Office, Trafalgar Square.

Baggage Via Cherbourg and Havre.--The heavy baggage of all passengers destined Paris or points beyond, will be checked by the ship's Baggagemaster direct to Paris at which point Customs examination will take place. Rate is, Cherbourg-Paris, first piece $2.00; each additional piece $3.00. Havre-Paris, first piece, $1.50; each additional piece, $2.00. Hand baggage half these amounts.
