Compagnie Commerciale de Transports a Vapeur Francais
Founded 1881 to operate between Havre, Bordeaux, West Indies and Central America. Initally the service was to New Orleans via New York but some maiden voyages only, were made from Mediterranean ports. After 1882 sailings were made to New Orleans direct or the West Indies / Central America. By 1894, the company had lost five of their seven ships and ceased trading.
Many thanks to Ted Finch for his assistance in collecting this data. The following list was extracted from various sources. This is not an all inclusive list but should only be used as a guide. If you would like to know more about a vessel, visit the Ship Descriptions (onsite) or the Immigrant Ship web site.
Three sister ships, HAVRE, BORDEAUX and MARSEILLE ran direct to Gulf ports and never sailed to New York.
