Freres Quesnel, Havre / Quesnel Brothers

In 1858 Freres Quesnel (Quesnel brothers) purchased the auxiliary sailing ship JEAN BAPTISTE which had been launched in Glasgow in 1856 and placed her in service between Havre and Brazil. She was found to be too small and was sold in 1861. Other ships joined the service and in 1871 the HENRY IV was built, together with the LOUIS XIV in 1872. Both these ships were sold in 1872 to Chargeurs Reunis. However, in 1874 another new ship, the SULLY was built for the company but was also sold to Chargeurs Reunis in 1880 and Freres Quesnel ceased trading.

Many thanks to Ted Finch for his assistance in collecting this data. The following list was extracted from various sources. This is not an all inclusive list but should only be used as a guide.
