The Fleets
Sicula Americana was founded in 1919 in Naples by Guglielmo Peirce. This company had no connection with the earlier company with the same name. A passenger service between Naples and New York commenced in December, 1920, with one ship and continued until November, 1923. Due to poor trading conditions, the ship was then laid up until 1926 when she was chartered to Cosulich Line and later sold. Cargo voyages continued until 1926 when the fleet was sold and the company dissolved. Many thanks to Ted Finch for his assistance in collecting this data. The following list was extracted from various sources. This is not an all inclusive list but should only be used as a guide.
