Empress of Britain 1956, Canadian Pacific Line

This Post Card was printed in Montreal, copyright date1959.

The following was printed on the reverse of the card.

"Gleaming white, her hull banded by a ribband of green, "Empress of Britain", launched by her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth, is the third Canadian Pacific liner to bear the name."

"Built for the scenic St. Lawrence cruise route to Europe in the summer season and West Indies-South America cruises in winter, "Empress of Britain" is fitted with gyro-controlled stabilizers and completely air-conditioned for passengers' comfort in any season."

"Sun-swept open decks for sports, glass-enclosed promenades for lounging, reading or snoozing surround a full deck of spacious public rooms for the 1,050 First Class and Tourist passengers to enjoy during the speedy leisure of a six-day crossing between Montreal, Quebec, Glasgow and Liverpool. "Empress of Britain", 25,500 tons gross register is 640 feet long, 85 feet wide and has a year-round speed of 20 knots."
