ship Amazon
three-masted barque, built 1850 in Dundee, Registered London. . . owned by Somes Bros.
The Amazon arrived on the 7th April with 297 souls ; one child, two years old, died on the voyage ; there were no births. The immigrants by this ship appeared to be a well selected class of persons. In 12 days from the date of arrival every immigrant had left the ship.
The Amazon seemed well adapted for the conveyance of immigrants. Mr. Frederick Coote, the master of the ship, and Mr. Edward Doman performed their duties with zeal, kindness, and efficiency.
