ARRIVAL OF THE MAORI WITH GOVERNMENT IMMIGRANTS.

Another batch of intending colonists arrived on Wednesday morning by the Maori, and from the state of the tides will be available for selection in harbour to-day. From the industrial classification it appears miners and agricultural labourers predominate ; but there are several skilled artisans, such as smiths, engine-drivers, millwrights, carpenters, &c., on the list. As usual in late arrivals the number of children is in excess of the average, but perhaps this is an improvement. There were no births during the passage, and the only mortality was among infants, of whom four died. Indeed, the surgeon's journal contained no entry of any serious sickness, though on arrival one or two cases of cutaneous derangement not very complimentary to cleanliness existed. Sub-joined is the official list of names of immigrants:—
