The Fleets

Lloyd Italiano

The Lloyd Italiano Line was formed in Genoa in 1904 by Erasmo Piaggio to operate passenger services to North and South America. The company came under the control of Navigazione Generale Italiana in 1911 and became completely absorbed in 1918.

Taormina 1908 1912 purchased from Italia Line, 1918 taken over by Navigazione Generale Italiana. 8,282
Virginia 1906 1911 sold to Ligure Brasiliana, renamed Garibaldi. 5,181

South American Service Only

Cordova 1905 1912 renamed Rio de Janeiro, 1913 reverted to Cordova, 1918 torpedoed and sunk near Cape Armi, Italy. 4,933
Principessa Jolanda 1907 1907 capsized while being launched and became a total loss - never sailed. 9,000
